I got arrested for supposedly showing porn to a minor, but I didn't show her anything. She was working for me and she went into some of my private porn. Then the police got a warrant and arrested me. Is that legal?
It probably is. No doubt the girl told police what she saw, so they had probable cause to give to the judge to support his issuance of the warrant. The issue will be whether you had reasonable cause to expect that you were going to be exposing the girl to this pornography. If so, you have a problem. It will depend on just how and where you kept it. This may be a fertile area of case precedent in the future as well. How responsible is any adult for letting a minor see porn when any child with internet access can see all he or she wishes? Is every parent with a computer connected to the internet committing the crime of exposing a minor to harmful sexual matter? It's an open issue and one you should have your attorney explore.
