First Offense: 

Jail:  Up to 30 months in jail.

Fine:  Range from $500 to $5,000. 

License Revocation:  1 year.

 

Second Offense: 

Jail:  A minimum of 30 days in jail, up to 30 months.

Fine:  Range from $600 to $10,000.

License Revocation:   2 years.

Ignition Interlock Device (IID):  Mandatory installation of IID in your vehicle(s).

 

Third Offense: 

Jail:  A  minimum of 150 days in jail, up to 5 years.

Fine:  $1,000 to $15,000.

License Revocation:   8 years.

Massachusetts Implied Consent Law/Test Refusal Consequences: Yes. If you refuse a sobriety test, you immediately lose your drivers license for 180 days.  You may appeal the suspension but it must be made within 15 days of your arrest.
