How many marijuana cigarettes (joints) can be made from an ounce of marijuana?

In Georgia, because penalties increase in severity for possession of more than an ounce of marijuana, it is useful to know exactly how many marijuana cigarettes equal an ounce. An ounce (28.35 grams) typically produces about 60 marijuana cigarettes, also called “joints.” However, the amount can vary depending on the potency of the joint – an ounce could make as many as 100 cigarettes or as few as 30. On the other hand, a marijuana cigar, or “blunt,” typically holds much more marijuana (often multiple grams per blunt), so an ounce of marijuana will make fewer than 30 blunts.
