All you need to do is look at the back of one of your credit card or ATM statements. There, you'll see words to the effect: "If you dispute a charge on your Statement." These are your instructions to have fraudulent charges removed from your billing. Follow the instructions. At the very most, under Federal law, you may be held liable for $50.00. The rest will be taken off, and the credit card company will begin its own investigation, and bring criminal charges if warranted. When the credit card company completes its investigation, and finds evidence of the fraud, and locates the culprit, you can take that person to Small Claims Court for the $50.00, plus filing fees and costs.
