I got arrested with a good quantity of heroin. I’ve been addicted for 15 years and I sell to support my habit. I’ve been to jail for it before. This time they charged me with possession for sale, but the cops say they will talk to the D.A and get it reduced to straight possession with no jail time if I set up a buy from my supplier. What do you think?
This isn’t really a legal question, but I’ll tell you what I think. You just have to decide which is worse, doing maybe 2-3 years in prison or risking getting murdered. Since you’ve been addicted for 15 years, chances are you’ll re-offend, and you have to ask yourself what your chances are on the inside if you get caught again, with a snitch reputation? It’s a very serious game they are asking you to play, and you should think real carefully about it. Also, do not do this on your own. Seek an attorney's help to negotiate it if you decide to take the deal. If the prosecutor approves it, the deal is on the up and up, for what it’s worth. Isn’t this predicament enough to motivate you to get into a program and get clean for good? |
