I am on parole. Can I move to another state?
Each case is supervised on an individual basis and the decision to allow you to leave the state is up to the discretion of the supervising officer unless otherwise ordered by the court. The primary concern is your level of risk -- flight-- viewed in light of the particular circumstances of your wishing to leave (e.g., marriage, birth, illness, or death of a family member). As a general rule, there is no state laws prohibiting such movement. You are still subject to the terms of your parole, even if you move to another state.
